Vladimir Guerrero tortured his former club by going 4-for-4 with two homers and five RBIs in leading the Texas Rangers to a 6-4 victory over the host Los Angeles Angels on Wednesday night.
Guerrero, playing in Anaheim for the first time after spending six seasons with the Angels, has three homers in two games in the series.
Guerrero hit a grand-slam to center in the fourth to turn a 3-0 deficit into a 4-3 Texas lead. He also homered in the eighth inning to finish off the perfect night at the plate.
Neftali Feliz pitched a perfect ninth for his 21st save.
The Angels took the early 3-0 lead on Erick Aybar’s first-inning homer and Reggie Willits’ two-run single in the second.
Omar Beltre lasted just four innings in his first-major league start for the Rangers. Beltre struck out six and gave up three runs and five hits.
Dustin Nippert (3-3) got the win with three innings of one-run relief.
Angels starter Scott Kazmir (7-7) allowed five runs and six hits in 4 2/3 innings.
Texas outfielder Josh Hamilton went 1-for-3 to extend his hitting streak to 23 games.
