Blake Dewitt homered and drove in a career-high five runs as the Los Angeles Dodgers’ offense broke out in a 12-4 win over the St. Louis Cardinals on Monday night.

Rafael Furcal drove in a pair of runs and Matt Kemp and Ronnie Belliard each had two hits and an RBI as Los Angeles knocked out 14 hits.

All of the damage came off a pair of pitchers with starter Blake Hawksworth (0-3) being charged for six runs on seven hits in four innings. P.J. Walters relieved him and didn’t fare any better, allowing exactly six runs on seven hits in four innings as well

Los Angeles plated two runs in the first, four runs in the fourth and four more in the fifth, highlighted by DeWitt’s first homer of the season - a three-run shot.

Dodgers starter Carlos Monasterios (3-0) was the beneficiary of the scoring outburst. He had the longest outing of his career with six-plus innings, giving up four hits, including two solo home runs to Ryan Ludwick.

A.J. Ellis and Garret Anderson both added RBIs in the victory.
