Tyrese Maxey scored 30 points, Kelly Oubre Jr. added 22 and the host Philadelphia 76ers defeated the Charlotte Hornets 109-98 on Saturday.

Buddy Hield contributed 14 points, Paul Reed had 11 and Cameron Payne chipped in 10 for the Sixers (37-30), who snapped a two-game losing streak.

Philadelphia played without Joel Embiid (knee), Tobias Harris (ankle), De'Anthony Melton (back) and Robert Covington (knee).

Tre Mann led the Hornets (17-51) with 21 points, while Davis Bertans added 16. Miles Bridges and Grant Williams scored 14 points apiece, and Nick Richards had 11 points and 11 rebounds. Vasilije Micic also scored 11 points.

The Hornets were also missing a number of key players due to injury, including LaMelo Ball (ankle), Seth Curry (ankle), Cody Martin (ankle), Bryce McGowens (knee) and Mark Williams (back).

The Hornets went ahead 82-81 with 8:40 left in the fourth quarter when Grant Williams posted up and scored in the lane.

Maxey hit a difficult step-back 3-pointer for an 86-84 advantage with 7:32 remaining.

Reed converted a three-point play with 4:20 to go for a 92-89 edge.

With Philadelphia leading 97-93, Oubre completed a three-point play with 1:55 left, and Nicolas Batum hit a 3-pointer from the corner for a 103-93 advantage with 1:22 to play. The 76ers led by at least eight the rest of the way.

Payne dropped in a 3-pointer from the wing with 4:19 remaining in the second quarter, and the Sixers led 45-39.

Maxey was elbowed in the nose by Brandon Miller with 2:51 left in the period, and the foul was deemed a flagrant 2. Miller was ejected from the game.

The Sixers held a 53-47 advantage at halftime thanks in large part to 17 points from Oubre.

No Charlotte player scored in double figures before the break.

The Hornets trailed 60-57 with 6:39 to go in the third quarter after a deep 3-pointer by Bridges.

Kyle Lowry hit a trey from the corner with 4:20 left, and the Sixers moved out to a 66-62 lead.

Maxey hit a tough layup at the buzzer, sending Philadelphia into the fourth up 79-71.
