Trey Thompkins and Travis Leslie combined for 29 points to lead an efficient attack as Georgia posted a 68-59 victory over visiting Arkansas State Saturday.

The frontcourt duo combined to shoot 11 of 20 from the field as the Bulldogs (7-2) shot 50.9 percent (27 of 53) overall.

Georgia has won its seven games by a combined 28 points.

Thompkins, a junior who was selected SEC preseason Player of the Year, scored 15 points to surpass 1,000 for his career and added seven rebounds. He entered averaging 17 points and 7.4 rebounds after missing the first three games with an ankle injury.

Rashad Allsion scored 12 of his 14 points in the first half for the Red Wolves (3-7), who had won three of their last four with the loss being an overtime thriller at Memphis.

Georgia plays four more non-conference games against lesser opponents before opening conference play Jan. 8 against No. 16 Kentucky.
