Five different players scored in double figures as Maryland coasted to an 85-62 win over North Florida Wednesday night in College Park, Md.
The Terrapins (9-4) used a 10-0 run to pull ahead, 39-23, with 3:26 left in the first half. The Ospreys would get as close as eight after the break, but Maryland scored 12 unanswered points to stretch the gap to 62-40 with 11:50 remaining.
Despite hitting just 1 of 10 free throws, Jordan Williams finished with 17 points, 11 rebounds and three blocks to lead the way for Maryland. The Terrapins, who forced 24 turnovers and enjoyed a 50-22 scoring edge in the paint, also got 15 points and six assists from Sean Mosley. Parker Smith paced North Florida (4-8) with 21 points.
Maryland wraps up its current five-game homestand Jan. 4 against Colgate before opening Atlantic Coast Conference play Jan. 9 at No. 1 Duke.
