Surging Kansas State got another big game from Jacob Pullen and knocked off No. 21 Missouri 80-70 on Saturday in Manhattan, Kan.
Pullen scored 24 points to lead the Wildcats (20-9, 8-6 Big 12), who have won six of seven and appear to have played their way into the NCAA Tournament.
Missouri (22-7, 8-6) led briefly during a heated second half, but didn’t have an answer for a late Kansas State run. The Wildcats closed the game with a 20-10 spurt, highlighted by a Pullen 3-pointer that put Kansas State up by 14 with 1:35 to play.
Marcus Denmon had 22 points to lead the Tigers, who had their four-game win streak snapped and are in danger of missing out on a first-round bye in the conference tournament. The top four teams receive a bye. Kansas State and Missouri are tied for fourth place in the Big 12.
Kansas State has an opportunity to add another impressive win to its resume when it heads to No. 5 Texas on Monday.
Missouri will look to bounce back at Nebraska on Tuesday before hosting No. 2 Kansas to end the season on March 5.
