Tanner Smith added 16 points as all five starters reached double figures for the Tigers (13-4, 2-1 ACC), who shot 69 percent from the floor, including 11 of 14 from 3-point range.
The teams traded runs in the first half, with Clemson jumping to a 10-2 lead only to have the Yellow Jackets gain a 12-10 edge three minutes later. Another spurt put the Tigers on top 23-14 before Georgia Tech captured the lead again at 27-26. The schools traded baskets from there, with Clemson taking a 34-33 edge into the locker room.
It was all Tigers in the second half, as they shot 17 of 20 (85 percent) from the field and ran away with it. Clemson hit all nine of its 3-point attempts and went 10 of 12 from the free-throw line after the break, outscoring Georgia Tech (7-8, 0-2), 53-29.
The Tigers get tests at North Carolina and Maryland next week in an effort to prove they belong in the conversation with No. 1 Duke at the top of the ACC.
