Purdue held Western Michigan to just two field goals in the second half and coasted to an 80-37 victory in the final game of the Puerto Rico Tipoff.
The fourth game of the tournament was played in West Lafayette, Ind., where Purdue (5-1) collected its 20th straight homecourt win, tying the third longest home winning streak in program history and the second longest streak in Mackey Arena history.
Ryne Smith paced three Boilermakers in double figures with 12 points, all on three-pointers, while Robbie Hummel added 11 and freshman Jacob Lawson chipped in with a career-high 10. Leading 33-22 at halftime, Purdue scored the first 15 points in the opening five minutes of the second half to bury the winless Broncos (0-5).
Kelsey Barlow and Travis Carroll added nine points apiece for Purdue, which shot 53 percent in the second half and held Western Michigan to just 2 of 24 from the field after halftime.
The Broncos, who did not have a single player reach double digits in scoring, managed only 8-of-45 shooting (17 percent) for the game.
