Tim Frazier scored 20 of his 22 points in the second half and added five rebounds, five assists and three steals to lead Penn State to a 62-54 victory over host Boston College in the Big Ten/ACC Challenge on Wednesday.
Jermaine Marshall chipped in 22 points and eight rebounds off the bench for the Nittany Lions (6-2), who picked up their first true road win of the season.
Penn State shot just 37 percent from the floor in the first half, drawing within 29-26 at the break thanks to Marshall’s 15-point performance in the opening period.
Frazier took over in the second half, scoring the first five points of the period to put the Nittany Lions back on top. The Eagles would go back up by as many as six points but could not pull away with Marshall and Frazier keeping it close.
Frazier’s 3-pointer with 7:04 left came at the top of a 14-3 run and put Penn State on top for good.
Matt Humphrey scored 15 points to lead Boston College (2-5), which has yet to score more than 67 points in a game.
