Cedric Martin scored a career-high 19 points and Utah battled back from an eight-point deficit in the second half to snap an eight-game losing streak with a 71-59 victory over visiting Idaho State on Friday.
Martin made 5-of-9 from 3-point range to lead the way and Dijon Farr recorded a career-high 16 points for Utah (2-8), which trailed 43-35 with 15:39 remaining.
Jason Washburn added 17 points and nine rebounds for the Utes. Idaho State held Utah’s leading scorer Josh Watkins to 1-for-9 shooting and three points, but he dished out eight assists.
Melvin Morgan had 13 points and Chase Grabau added 11 for Idaho State (2-8), which had 10 turnovers in the second half.
Idaho State led by as many as nine in the first half, but Utah clawed back within 34-31 at halftime.
Chase Swanson had seven of the Bengals’ 14 points off the bench in the first half but did not score in the second half.
Washburn had eight points and four rebounds for Utah in the opening 20 minutes.
