Bernard James recorded 17 points and 12 rebounds and Florida State rolled to a 77-61 victory over visiting Loyola Marymount on Sunday.
Michael Snaer added 12 points for the Seminoles (8-3), who easily handled a team that opened some eyes with a pair of wins over ranked opponents earlier in the season.
Anthony Ireland scored 19 points for the Lions (6-5). Loyola Marymount knocked off then-No. 17 UCLA in the season opener and also beat then-No. 23 Saint Louis five weeks later, but it had no answers for the fifth-best defense in the nation.
Florida State held the Lions to 35 percent from the field (20 of 56) and scored 18 points off 17 turnovers. The Seminoles also recorded eight blocks.
Florida State broke open a close game with a 22-8 run and led 38-23 at the half. The lead grew to as many as 25 in the second half. The real test for the inconsistent Seminoles comes Thursday when they hit the road to face No. 13 Florida in hopes of securing their first signature non-conference win of the season.
