WISCONSIN 68, MINNESOTA 61 (OT): Jordan Taylor scored 27 points and No. 22 Wisconsin hit 15 free throws in overtime to escape from host Minnesota.
Ryan Evans picked up his first career double-double with 17 points and 11 rebounds for the Badgers (19-6, 8-4 Big Ten), who bounced back from a home loss to Ohio State and kept its Big Ten title hopes alive.
Minnesota (17-8, 5-7) used all its energy with a second-half comeback, and Wisconsin controlled the extra period, needing only one field goal to go with all the free throws.
The Badgers led by as much as 13 points in the second half, and were still up, 51-41, with 7:41 left. Wisconsin did not score another point in regulation.
Andre Hollins made the biggest play of the comeback for the Gophers, burying a deep 3-pointer from the top of the key with the shot clock running down to cut it to 51-49. Austin Hollins knocked down two free throws with 1:02 left to knot it at 51-51.
GAME NOTEBOOK: Minnesota ended regulation on a 15-2 run … Andre Hollins scored 20 points to lead the Gophers, whose NCAA Tournament hopes took a hit … Wisconsin improved to 5-1 on the road in conference play.
