GEORGIA TECH 63, MARYLAND 61: Kammeon Holsey had 16 points and 10 rebounds, and Mfon Udofia dished out a career-high nine assists as the host Yellow Jackets snapped a four-game skid.
Udofia orchestrated an attack that did not resemble the one that put up a season-low 37 points in its previous game.
Georgia Tech (10-18, 3-11 ACC) went on a 17-2 run early in the second half to take control. While Holsey was operating inside, he and center Daniel Miller made it tough for Maryland to score in the paint, combining for six blocks.
The Terps (16-12, 6-8 ACC) lost for just the second time in their last 13 meetings with the Jackets. Senior guard Sean Mosley scored 14 of his 16 points in the first half.
His teammate, ACC leading scorer Terrell Stoglin (21.3 ppg), was held to 18 points on 5-of-17 shooting.
Tech got off to a scorching start, hitting five of its first nine 3-pointers, including two by former walk-on Nick Foreman.
GAME NOTEBOOK: Tech improved to 2-7 at Philips Arena, its makeshift home this season. … The Jackets played their third straight game without leading scorer Glen Rice Jr., who remains suspended indefinitely. … The Terps went 6 of 9 from beyond the arc in the first half, 1 of 5 in the second.
