Iowa 88, Texas A&M-Corpus Christi 59: Melsahn Basabe scored a season-high 17 points off the bench and the host Hawkeyes routed the overmatched Islanders.

Devyn Marble added 15 points and freshman center Adam Woodbury scored
11 of his season-high 13 points in the first half as Iowa (6-2) snapped
a two-game losing streak.
The Hawkeyes raced to a 9-0 lead
before turning it into a laugher behind Basabe, who scored 13 straight
points in a 20-0 run to give his team a commanding 31-7 edge with just
under 7 1/2 minutes left in the opening half.
Reserve Joy
Williamson scored 14 points and Hameed Ali and Johnathan Jordan added 13
apiece for Texas A&M CC (1-5), which trailed 44-23 at halftime en
route to its fifth consecutive loss.
Basabe and Woodbury combined
to make all eight of their field goal attempts and split eight rebounds
in the opening half as Iowa dominated the backboards 21-5 and finished
the game with a 36-18 edge on the glass.
GAME NOTEBOOK:
Basabe surpassed his season-high point total during his personal 13-0
run in the first half, which came in a span of 2:42. ... Williamson
scored in double figures for the fourth consecutive game for the
Islanders. ... Iowa shot 55.8 percent (29 of 52) in improving to 5-1
