No. 9 Arizona 85, Texas Tech 57: Nick Johnson led four players in double figures with 21 points as the Wildcats dominated the host Red Raiders.
Solomon Hill had 14 points and freshman Kaleb Tarczewski contributed 13 rebounds for Arizona (5-0). The Wildcats shot 56.6 percent (30-for-53) from the floor and limited Texas Tech to a 34.9 percent (22-for-63) mark.
Jaye Crockett came off the bench to lead the Red Raiders (4-1) with 12 points and six rebounds. Texas Tech had a scoreless stretch of over four minutes early in the second half and went without a field goal for over eight minutes down the stretch.
Arizona scored 11 straight points near the end of the first half to take a 45-28 lead into the locker room, and Johnson's 3-pointer capped an 8-0 run to start the second half as the Wildcats built a 25-point advantage.
Buoyed by the crowd at United Spirit Arena, the Red Raiders clawed to within 55-42 on a Daylen Robinson 3-pointer with 13:05 left. However, Johnson had the first four points in an immediate 26-3 surge that turned it into a laugher.
GAME NOTEBOOK: Texas Tech still owns a 28-23 series advantage but Arizona has won six straight meetings. ... The Red Raiders got 10 points from their starters and 18 from their reserves in the first half. ... The game marked the Wildcats' first road contest of the season.
