South Carolina 91, Jacksonville 74: Michael Carrera scored 17 points and Brian Richardson recorded a season-high 16 for the host Gamecocks.
Carrera and Richardson each scored 13 points in the first half as South Carolina (6-3) shot 71.9 percent from the floor while surging to a 57-30 lead. Bruce Ellington and Brenton Williams scored 12 apiece for the Gamecocks.
Marcellous Bell scored a season-high 17 points to lead Jacksonville (4-6). Jarvis Haywood finished with 13 points and Keith McDougald had 12.
The Gamecocks made 23 of 32 field-goal attempts in the first half. After the Dolphins scored the first basket of the game, South Carolina answered with 11 straight points and gradually increased its lead.
The Gamecocks cooled off in the second half, shooting just 33.3 percent (8 for 24), missing a chance to shoot 60 percent or better for the first time in seven years.
