Coastal Carolina 69, Clemson 46: Anthony Raffa scored 25 points as the host Chanticleers beat the Tigers for the second consecutive season.
Coastal Carolina (4-5) upended the Tigers in Clemson on a buzzer-beater last season. The Chanticleers removed any drama with a 28-6 run after Clemson (6-4) pulled within 41-36 on Devin Booker’s dunk with 11:55 remaining.
Four Chanticleers hit 3-pointers during the run. Warren Gillis finished with 12 points, sinking 3 of 7 attempts from 3-point range. Kierre Greenwood added 10 points and seven assists.
Clemson led 17-14 with 8:54 left in the first half, but gave up 13 consecutive points before scoring on a Booker tip-in with one second left in the half. Raffa scored six points during the run as Coastal Carolina took a 27-19 halftime lead.
Booker scored 16 points to lead Clemson, which shot just 32.1 percent from the field and committed 18 turnovers.
GAME NOTEBOOK: Raffa, who came into the game as one of Division I's top 20 scorers at 20.4 points, finished 10-for-17 from the field. … The Tigers are 2-3 since starting the season 4-1. … Uros Ljeskovic grabbed 10 rebounds for the Chanticleers. ... Clemson finished 4-for-21 from 3-point range while Coastal Carolina made 9 of 23 attempts beyond the arc.
