Wake Forest 75, Boston College 72: C.J. Harris scored a career-high 29 points, including four 3-pointers, to lead the host Demon Deacons past the Eagles.
Travis McKie had 18 points, including three 3-pointers, and Devin Thomas grabbed a game-high 11 rebounds to help Wake Forest (9-6, 2-1 ACC) improve to 7-2 at home.
Boston College (9-7, 1-2), which fell to 2-2 on the road, was led by Lonnie Jackson, who scored 23 points, including four 3-pointers. Olivier Hanlan had 18 points and Ryan Anderson added 12 points and a team-high 10 rebounds for his fifth double-double this season.
Boston College, which swept both games last season, jumped out to a 10-0 lead before Wake Forest scored the next 11 points - capped by Harris’ jumper. Harris’ layup with eight seconds left gave Wake Forest a 38-36 lead at halftime.
Wake Forest extended its lead to as many as 12 points in the second half before Boston College cut it to 73-72 on Joe Rahon’s free throws with 1:28 to play. Rahon, who finished 0-for-7 from the field, missed a jumper with six seconds left and after Harris’ free throws gave Wake Forest a 75-72 lead with five seconds to go, Hanlan missed a 3-pointer at the buzzer.
