South Carolina 82, LSU 73 (OT): Freshman Miguel Carrera logged a career-high 23 points, 10 in overtime, and grabbed 10 rebounds to lead the visiting Gamecocks to their first Southeastern Conference victory.

Trailing 69-65 with 2:07 left, Carrera made a layup before Brenton Williams knocked down two free throws 51 seconds left to force overtime. Eric Smith made two free throws 18 seconds into the extra frame to give South Carolina a 71-69 lead. Carrera hit a jumper 46 seconds later and carried South Carolina (11-5, 1-2 SEC) the rest of the way.

Brenton Williams added 16 points, Lakeem Jackson recorded 11 points and 11 rebounds and RJ Slawson chipped in 11 points. Carrera and Williams each went 9-for-10 from the foul line.

Williams tallied 12 first-half points and LSU (9-5, 0-3) committed 13 turnovers as the Gamecocks took a 35-33 advantage into halftime.

Anthony Hickey led the Tigers with 18 points and seven rebounds while Charles Carmouche scored 13. LSU shot 29.6 percent from 3-point range and committed 22 turnovers.
