No. 21 Georgetown 69, Rutgers 63: Markel Sparks scored 20 points as the visiting Hoyas withstood an upset bid and posted their fifth straight victory.

Otto Porter Jr. collected 19 points and 14 rebounds for his sixth double-double of the season as Georgetown (17-4, 7-3 Big East) shot 57.4 percent. Mikael Hopkins added a career-high 14 points and D'Vauntes Smith-Rivera chipped in 13 points.

Eli Carter ended his recent shooting slump by scoring 23 points on 8-of-18 shooting for Rutgers (12-10, 3-8), which dropped its sixth straight game. The Scarlet Knights shot 38.9 percent, did not place anyone else in double figures and made one field goal in the last 8:57.

The game featured 14 lead changes and 11 ties but Porter took over down the stretch. He scored seven straight Georgetown points and his fastbreak layup with 4:44 remaining gave the Hoyas the lead for good at 62-60.

Rutgers was within 62-61 after Wally Judge split a pair at the line before Porter grabbed the rebound of the missed free throw, converted a layup at the other end and completed the three-point play with 1:15 to go. After Carter hit a layup with 56 seconds left, Porter sealed the win at the line with 39 seconds remaining.
