No. 25 Pittsburgh 62, No. 17 Cincinnati 52: Tray Woodall scored 14 points and hit a pair of key 3-pointers late in the second half as the visiting Panthers overcame the Bearcats.
Steven Adams added 13 points and Talib Zanna collected 11 points and nine rebounds for Pittsburgh (20-5, 8-4 Big East), which has won three straight and seven of eight.
Sean Kilpatrick led Cincinnati (18-6, 6-5) with 16 points while Cashmere Wright struggled to five points on 2-of-12 shooting, including 1-of-11 from 3-point range. The Bearcats have dropped back-to-back games for the second time this season.
Cincinnati held a 45-39 lead after Titus Rubles' three-point play with 9:21 left but did not make another field goal.
Woodall’s 3-pointer with 6:56 left knotted it at 45 and Trey Ziegler put the Panthers on top the next trip down the court. Woodall hit another 3-pointer with 3:23 left to cap a 7-0 burst and Pittsburgh coasted the rest of the way on the strength of its defense.
GAME NOTEBOOK: Cincinnati went 4-for-25 from 3-point range and shot 30.8 percent from the field overall. … Pittsburgh got revenge for a 70-61 home loss to the Bearcats in the Big East opener Dec. 31. … The Panthers have beaten their last three ranked opponents.
