Deshaun Thomas had 17 points and seven rebounds as the Buckeyes defeated the Badgers to win the Big Ten championship in Chicago.

Second-seeded Ohio State (26-7) held Wisconsin without a field goal for the final seven-plus minutes en route to winning the tournament crown for the third time in four seasons.

Traevon Jackson had 10 points for fourth-seeded Wisconsin (23-11), which will be part of the NCAA Tournament field as an at-large entry.

The Badgers had a 41-39 lead with 7:03 to play before Thomas hit two free throws and Craft scored the go-ahead basket with 5:30 to play. LaQuinton Ross made back-to-back baskets to cap an 8-0 burst that gave the Buckeyes a six-point advantage with 2:41 remaining.

Ohio State led 13-6 seven-plus minutes into the contest before going nearly eight minutes without scoring. Wisconsin rolled off 14 straight points and later led 24-15 before the Buckeyes scored the final eight points of the half.

GAME NOTEBOOK: The Buckeyes had a 39-28 rebounding edge and collected 12 offensive boards. … Jackson made two free throws with 2:27 to play for the Badgers’ only points over the final seven-plus minutes. … Both teams shot poorly from 3-point range with Ohio State going 1-for-16 and Wisconsin 3-for-18.
