Tulsa 64, Louisiana 53: Rashad Ray and Marquel Curtis scored 16 points apiece as the host Golden Hurricane bounced back from their season-opening loss to Oral Roberts.

D’Andre Wright collected 14 points and five rebounds for Tulsa (1-1), which outscored Louisiana 24-13 in the final 10 minutes to win its home opener under new coach Frank Haith. James Woodard registered four points and six rebounds after scoring 16 points in a 77-68 loss to Oral Roberts on Saturday.

Shawn Long led Louisiana (1-1) with 15 points while Brian Williams added nine points and six rebounds. Tiremone Williams had four points, six rebounds and three assists for the Ragin’ Cajuns.

Louisiana had more turnovers (13) than field goals (eight) in the first half and trailed 32-21 at the break. Ray scored 12 points in the opening 20 minutes for the Golden Hurricane, who closed the half on a 12-1 run.

Louisiana opened the second half on a 14-2 run and moved ahead 35-34 on J.J. Davenport’s basket with just under 13 minutes remaining. Woodward was held scoreless before his dunk with 3:09 left put Tulsa ahead 56-46, and Golden Hurricane secured the win at the foul line, where they made 17 of their 23 attempts.
