Senior guard Eric Washington hit the game-winning jumper with 23 seconds left to cap off a 15-point performance to lift Miami (Ohio) to a 64-63 victory over Central Florida in nonconference play on Saturday at Oxford, Ohio.

Washington connected on the winning shot for the final points of the contest as the RedHawks (4-3) rallied from a 13-point, second-half deficit. Senior guards Geovonie McKnight and Willie Moore added 13 points apiece.

Freshman center Tacko Fall had 10 points to lead UCF (1-3). Senior forward Shaheed Davis added nine points and eight rebounds.

UCF was outscored 31-16 over a 16-minute stretch but had a chance to recover. A three-point play by Fall gave the Golden Knights a 63-62 lead with 38 seconds left before Washington made the decisive basket.

The Golden Knights led by 13 points three minutes into the second half before Miami began whittling away. The deficit was cut to 53-51 on Washington's basket with 7:29 left in the contest and McKnight's basket tied the score at 59 with 3:23 to play before sophomore guard Abdoulaye Harouna followed with a go-ahead 3-pointer 23 seconds later.

UCF made seven consecutive first-half field goals during one stretch to open up a 31-24 lead with 3:58 left. The RedHawks were within three after a 3-pointer by Harouna before the Golden Knights took a 36-28 lead into the break.
