Lamar Stevens had 24 points as Penn State broke a three-game losing streak with a 90-76 victory against No. 21 Ohio State at University Park, Pa., on Saturday.

Stevens shot 7 of 12 from the floor and hit all eight free throws and the Nittany Lions (13-5, 3-4 Big Ten) made 53.7 percent of their field goals.

Myreon Jones had 20 points and Seth Lundy added 12 for the Nittany Lions.

Duane Washington, who along with Luther Muhammad returned from a one-game team suspension, had 20 points and Kaleb Wesson 19 points for the Buckeyes (12-6, 2-5), who have lost six of the past nine games.

Penn State pushed a 42-27 halftime lead to 56-36 with 15 minutes left on Izaiah Brockington's bucket.

Ohio State got to within 77-65 on a Wesson 3-pointer with 2:39 left but Stevens put down a thunderous jam 14 seconds later to quell the rally.

The teams followed similar paths to their second meeting of the season. Ohio State won its first nine games, three of them over top-10 opponents, and reached No. 2 in the rankings before slumping.

The Buckeyes ended a four-game losing streak Tuesday against Nebraska.

Penn State was ranked for the first time in two decades thanks to a 12-2 start, which included a 106-74 loss at Ohio State on Dec. 7, before losing its next three games.

Penn State held a 23-9 lead with under eight minutes left in the first half until Wesson nailed a trey as part of a 7-0 run to make it 23-16.

He scored 12 points as Ohio State shot 34.5 percent (10 of 29) through 20 minutes. The Buckeyes finished at 42.6 percent.

Meanwhile, the Nittany Lions made five of their final seven shots of the first half for 53.3 percent shooting from the floor to extend their advantage to 15 at the break.

The Nittany Lions play at Michigan on Wednesday. Ohio State hosts Minnesota on Thursday.
