Henrik Zetterberg scored two goals and set up another, Filppula added two assists and Joey MacDonald made 21 saves for the Red Wings, who had lost three of four at home.

Dwight King buried the rebound of a left-point shot by Jeff Carter with 5:54 left in the third, giving the Kings a 3-2 advantage. It lasted less than two minutes as Filppula converted a feed from rookie defenseman Brendan Smith from the left side of the crease for his 22nd tally.

Shortly thereafter, Johan Franzen made a backhand pass from the right corner to Helm, who knocked the puck past All-Star Jonathan Quick from the doorstep for his fourth goal in nine contests.

Carter opened the scoring 7 1/2 minutes into the game with his third goal in seven games with the Kings. During a power play, Carter poked a loose puck past MacDonald after Anze Kopitar had hit the crossbar.

Zetterberg evened the contest with a one-timer off a cross-slot pass from Filppula with 5:20 remaining in the first period. Justin Williams put Los Angeles back in front three minutes later, but Zetterberg capped his first two-goal performance of the season late in the second to forge a 2-2 tie.

Quick stopped 11 shots for the Kings, who fell to 1-2-0 on their four-game road trip. Los Angeles remained one point behind idle San Jose for eighth place in the Western Conference.
