Maple Leafs 2, Devils 1: Leo Komarov and Tyler Bozak scored goals as visiting Toronto extended its point streak against New Jersey to six games (4-0-2).

James Reimer turned aside 27 shots for the Maple Leafs, who improved to 6-1-3 over their last 10 contests. Toronto moved two points ahead of idle Ottawa for fifth place in the Eastern Conference.

David Clarkson scored and Martin Brodeur made 16 saves for the struggling Devils, whose winless streak reached six games (0-3-3). New Jersey fell three points behind the New York Islanders for the eighth and final playoff berth in the East.

Toronto opened the scoring just 3:49 into the contest. Former Devils defenseman Mark Fraser unleashed a shot from the left point that was tipped past Brodeur by Komarov in the left faceoff circle.

Bozak doubled the lead just over eight minutes into the third as he moved ahead of New Jersey blue-liner Peter Harrold and got off a backhander against Brodeur, who had the puck carom off his stick and into the air before trickling over the goal line. Clarkson halved the deficit with 8:23 remaining, but the Devils were unable to get the equalizer.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Clarkson's goal was his team-leading 13th but only his third in the last 24 games. It also was New Jersey's first tally in 143 minutes, 36 seconds. ... Maple Leafs RW Joffrey Lupul missed the contest with an upper-body injury, which many believe is a concussion suffered in Thursday's loss to Philadelphia. ... The Devils have lost all six games since F Ilya Kovalchuk went down with a shoulder injury.
