Preview Roundups
May 29, 2017
NY Yankees at Baltimore 1:05 PM ET
The Baltimore Orioles were cruising along in first place in the American League East and sat 22-10 after a home win over Beltway rival Washington on May 9, but things have changed quickly. The Orioles will try to snap a seven-game slide and win for the fourth time in the last 17 games when they host the AL East-leading New York Yankees in the opener of a three-game series on Monday.
Boston at Chi. White Sox 2:10 PM ET
The Boston Red Sox finally got themselves on a roll over the past week, especially among the pitching staff, and are ready to welcome back a big piece of the rotation. The Red Sox will send David Price to the mound to make his season debut when they open a 10-game road trip by visiting the Chicago White Sox in the first of a three-game series on Monday.
Houston at Minnesota 2:10 PM ET
A pair of first-place teams meet Memorial Day in Minnesota as the Twins host the Houston Astros in the opener of a three-game set. The Astros enter the Twin Cities having won four straight and six of seven following a three-game sweep of the Baltimore Orioles, capped by Sunday's 8-4 victory.
LA Dodgers at St. Louis 2:15 PM ET
The scuffling St. Louis Cardinals will get another chance to measure themselves against a playoff hopeful when the Los Angeles Dodgers visit for the opener of a four-game series on Monday. The Dodgers took two of three from the Cardinals at home last week and are coming off a three-game sweep of the Chicago Cubs.
Seattle at Colorado 3:10 PM ET
The Colorado Rockies will try to build upon the best record in the National League when they open the first half of a four-game, home-and-home interleague series with the visiting Seattle Mariners on Monday. The Rockies are 8-0-1 in their last nine series after taking the rubber game from the St. Louis Cardinals on Sunday by an 8-4 margin.
Arizona at Pittsburgh 4:05 PM ET
The Arizona Diamondbacks cooled off in Milwaukee over the weekend but look to get back in the win column when they visit the Pittsburgh Pirates on Monday for the opener of their three-game series. The Diamondbacks had won 10 of 11 before dropping the last two encounters with the Brewers, allowing 15 runs in the process, and are 2-2 on their 11-game road trip - their longest trek since 2010.
Washington at San Francisco 4:05 PM ET

One of the most dynamic teams in the major leagues heads to the West Coast this week, as the Washington Nationals begin a nine-game road trip Monday against the San Francisco Giants. Perhaps the Nationals’ greatest weakness has been playing on the road, where they’ve lost their last three series.

Milwaukee at NY Mets 4:10 PM ET
The New York Mets attempt to avenge a sweep on the road earlier this month when they begin a four-game home series against the Milwaukee Brewers on Monday. New York lost three straight in Milwaukee from May 12-14, getting outscored 29-17 in the process.
Oakland at Cleveland 4:10 PM ET
The Cleveland Indians got back on track with a big victory last time out and look to continue their success against American League West foes when they host the Oakland Athletics on Monday for the opener of a four-game series. The Indians pounded out 18 hits in a 10-1 rout of Kansas City on Sunday to end a three-game slide and have won 10 of 12 contests against the AL West over the first two months of the season.
Chi. Cubs at San Diego 4:40 PM ET

The West Coast hasn’t been kind to the Chicago Cubs, who have started their six-game swing with three losses – and surrendered their division lead. The Cubs look to get back on track when they head to San Diego to begin a three-game series against the struggling Padres on Monday afternoon.

Cincinnati at Toronto 7:07 PM ET
Toronto native Joey Votto was a mere 25-year-old in his second full season in the majors in 2009 when he last got a chance to perform at the Rogers Centre. The four-time All-Star will return home for the first time in nearly eight years Monday when his Cincinnati Reds visit the Blue Jays.
Philadelphia at Miami 7:10 PM ET
When the Miami Marlins and Philadelphia Phillies last parted ways at the end of last month, neither club had a losing record. As they reconvene in Miami for a three-game set starting Monday, the clubs are separated by one game for the worst record in the majors.
Detroit at Kansas City 7:15 PM ET
The Detroit Tigers hope to end what has been a disappointing 11-game road trip on a high note as they visit the Kansas City Royals on Monday for the opener of their three-game series. Detroit has gone 2-6 on the trek, dropping three of four to both Houston and the Chicago White Sox.
Tampa Bay at Texas 8:05 PM ET
The Texas Rangers finished a disappointing road trip on a high note and could add a big bat to the lineup as early as Monday, when they host the Tampa Bay Rays for the opener of their three-game series. The Rangers used some solid pitching and Joey Gallo’s 15th homer of the season to post a 3-1 triumph at Toronto on Sunday and complete a 3-6 road trip, and they have won just two of eight since a 10-game winning streak.
Atlanta at LA Angels 9:07 PM ET
The Los Angeles Angels will be holding their breath on the status of superstar Mike Trout as they begin a three-game interleague series with the visiting Atlanta Braves on Monday. Trout suffered a sprained thumb stealing second base in Sunday's 9-2 loss at Miami as the Angels finished a 4-6 road trip.
