Preview Roundups
March 06, 2017
Milwaukee at Philadelphia 7:00 PM ET
The Milwaukee Bucks look to build some momentum following a successful homestand when they visit the Philadelphia 76ers on Monday. Consecutive victories over the Los Angeles Clippers and Toronto Raptors to close out a three-game stay at home gave the Bucks six wins in their last nine games overall, and they return from Philadelphia to play three more in a row at the Bradley Center.
New York at Orlando 7:00 PM ET
Two Eastern Conference teams that started the season with playoff aspirations and continue to suffer through difficult campaigns meet on Monday, when the New York Knicks visit the Orlando Magic. The Knicks have lost three of four to fall a season-low 13 games under .500, while the Magic are ahead of just one team in the East after coughing up a 16-point halftime lead in a 115-114 loss at Washington on Sunday.
Miami at Cleveland 7:00 PM ET
The Miami Heat had little trouble sprinting past the Cleveland Cavaliers at home on Saturday with All-Stars LeBron James and Kyrie Irving sitting out, but that doesn't mean the victory came without controversy. Both teams will try to keep the emotions under control when the home-and-home set shifts to Cleveland on Monday.
Golden State at Atlanta 7:30 PM ET
Life without Kevin Durant is starting to get better for the Golden State Warriors, who conclude their five-game road trip Monday against the Atlanta Hawks after avoiding their first three-game losing streak since November 2013. Golden State defeated the New York Knicks 112-105 on Sunday after falling to Chicago 94-87 on Thursday to snap a 146-game run without back-to-back losses, one contest after Durant was lost for perhaps the rest of the regular season with a left knee injury.
Chicago at Detroit 7:30 PM ET
The Detroit Pistons are holding onto a spot in the top eight in the Eastern Conference and are in a position to move up in the standings with the way the schedule sets up this week. The Pistons will try to pull into a tie for the No. 7 spot when they host the seventh-place Chicago Bulls on Monday.
Brooklyn at Memphis 8:00 PM ET
The Memphis Grizzlies have a good opportunity to snap a two-game slide when they host the lowly Brooklyn Nets on Monday. The Grizzlies are 3-5 in their last eight contests overall following a winless two-game trip to Texas, capped by Saturday's 123-108 loss to Houston.
Portland at Minnesota 8:00 PM ET
There are five teams sitting outside the top eight in the Western Conference that believe they still have a chance at a postseason spot, and the Minnesota Timberwolves and Portland Trail Blazers are both in that pack. The Timberwolves will try to continue a run of strong play and gain a game in the race when they open a three-game homestand by hosting the Trail Blazers on Monday.
Indiana at Charlotte 8:00 PM ET
Paul George has seemingly emerged from a long shooting slump and the Indiana Pacers look to end a five-game road trip on a positive note when they visit the Charlotte Hornets on Monday. George shot 28.6 percent from the field and averaged 14.3 points - more than seven below his season average - in a six-game span before breaking out in Sunday's 97-96 win at Atlanta.
Houston at San Antonio 8:30 PM ET
The knee injury suffered by Golden State Warriors star Kevin Durant is giving a team or two reason to believe it can jump up and challenge for the top spot in the Western Conference. The San Antonio Spurs, who sit second in the West, will try to keep the pressure on when they host the third-place Houston Rockets on Monday.
Sacramento at Denver 9:00 PM ET
The Denver Nuggets look to rebound from a rough start to their important four-game homestand when they host the Sacramento Kings on Monday. The Nuggets suffered a damaging 112-102 loss to Charlotte on Saturday and lead Portland by just 1 ½ games for the eighth and final playoff spot in the Western Conference, while the Kings are three back after losing a heartbreaker to Utah at the buzzer in overtime Sunday.
New Orleans at Utah 9:00 PM ET
The New Orleans Pelicans finally figured out a way to win with newly acquired DeMarcus Cousins and hope to keep that momentum going when they visit the Utah Jazz on Monday. New Orleans lost its first four games with Cousins in the lineup since he arrived in a blockbuster trade from the Sacramento Kings on Feb. 19 before the 6-11 forward recorded 26 points and 15 rebounds prior to fouling out of Sunday's 105-97 victory over the Lakers in Los Angeles.
Boston at L.A. Clippers 10:30 PM ET
The return of Chris Paul has led to some uneven results for the Los Angeles Clippers, but they hope to produce their first winning streak since before the All-Star break when they host the Boston Celtics on Monday. The Clippers are 2-3 since Paul returned from a thumb injury after registering a 101-91 victory Saturday at Chicago.
