Preview Roundups
February 07, 2018
Maryland at Penn St. 6:30 PM ET
Penn State has finished with seven wins in Big Ten play just once in its six seasons under head coach Patrick Chambers, a mark the team can reach Wednesday when it hosts Maryland in a key conference tilt. The surging Nittany Lions have won three of their last four and the one loss was a tight one at No. 4 Michigan State.
Louisiana State at Florida 6:30 PM ET
Florida has played itself right out of the national rankings with three losses in four games and looks to begin turning the ship around when LSU visits Wednesday night for an SEC matchup. The Gators were 12-4 after starting the SEC campaign with four straight victories, but they have won just three of seven games since after getting hammered 68-50 by Alabama at home on Saturday.
Virginia at Florida State 7:00 PM ET
Stuck in the middle of the ACC pack with five conference losses heading into the final weeks of the regular season, Florida State is looking to make a bold statement with a victory at home over No. 2 Virginia on Wednesday. The Cavaliers, after their stifling 59-44 triumph over Syracuse on Saturday, are a perfect 11-0 in conference play and have won 14 in a row overall thanks to beating teams by an average of 16.4 points per game.
Wake Forest at Miami-Florida 7:00 PM ET
With back-to-back victories over Pittsburgh and Virginia Tech, Miami played its way back into the Coaches Poll at No. 25. Now the Hurricanes, who have won four of their last five, have to work hard to remain there, beginning with Wednesday's visit from Wake Forest, which has lost seven straight in the state of Florida.
South Florida at Connecticut 7:00 PM ET
Having dropped below .500 for the first time this season and coming off its first on-campus defeat, Connecticut looks to halt a three-game skid when it hosts South Florida on Wednesday night. The reeling Huskies have lost five of six to fall into a tie for ninth place in the American Athletic Conference - ahead of only East Carolina and last-place USF.
East Carolina at Temple 7:00 PM ET

Streaking Temple aims for its fourth straight victory when it hosts East Carolina on Wednesday. The Owls have won five of their last six overall, while the Pirates have dropped six of their last eight.

Marquette at Seton Hall 7:00 PM ET
Life in the Big East with a young team is proving difficult for Marquette, which plays a conference game Tuesday at Seton Hall. The Golden Eagles have lost four straight games including the last three at home and face an uphill battle the rest of the way with five of their final seven contests on the road starting with the Pirates, whom they beat by 20 points last month.
St. John's at Villanova 7:00 PM ET
If Villanova was expecting an easy win Wednesday against St. John's, it suddenly has a giant killer on its hands. The top-ranked Wildcats are as dominant as ever, but visiting St. John's is riding a lot of momentum following its huge win over Duke.
Kansas State at Texas 8:00 PM ET
Kansas State and host Texas are both looking for momentum when they meet Wednesday in Big 12 action. The winner will move into a tie for fourth place with Oklahoma.
Ohio St. at Purdue 8:30 PM ET
Third-ranked Purdue looks to take a big step towards its second Big Ten regular-season title in as many years when it hosts No. 16 Ohio State on Wednesday. The Boilermakers extended their winning streak to 19 with a 78-76 victory against Rutgers on Saturday and can open up a two-game lead over the Buckeyes at the top of the conference standings by earning their third straight win in the series.
Georgia at Vanderbilt 8:30 PM ET
Georgia is among a group of 11 teams battling in a crowded middle portion of the SEC standings entering Wednesday’s trip to Vanderbilt, a matchup that wraps up a stretch of five road games in seven contests for the struggling Bulldogs. Georgia trailed by 16 points at halftime of Saturday’s 72-57 defeat at Mississippi State, the sixth loss in eight games for a Bulldogs squad that now needs a strong finishing kick to garner any NCAA Tournament consideration.
NC State at Virginia Tech 9:00 PM ET
North Carolina State looks for its fourth straight win as it visits Virginia Tech in an important matchup Wednesday night. The Wolfpack are tied for fifth and hold a one-game lead over the Hokies in the crowded ACC standings as both teams need all the wins they can get down the stretch to improve their NCAA Tournament resumes.
Texas A&M at Auburn 9:00 PM ET

Auburn has cracked the top 10 for the first time in 18 years and will try to stay there by defeating visiting Texas A&M on Wednesday. The Tigers have won five straight and 19 of their last 20 to build a 1 1/2-game cushion atop the SEC standings.

Creighton at DePaul 9:00 PM ET
With home games against No. 5 Xavier and No. 1 Villanova still on the docket, Creighton still controls has an outside shot at winning the Big East title.  The Bluejays, who begin the week tied for third place with Butler, make their first ever trip to new Wintrust Arena in Chicago on Wednesday night where they face struggling DePaul.
Iowa State at Texas Tech 9:00 PM ET

With star guard Keenan Evans leading the way, No. 7 Texas Tech has won four straight, soaring to the top of the Big 12 standings alongside Kansas and to its highest ranking in over 20 years. On Wednesday, the Red Raiders will seek revenge on the last team to beat them when Iowa State visits.

California at Colorado 11:00 PM ET

The middle of the Pac-12 standings is a logjam with only two games currently separating the fourth- through ninth-place teams. And that’s precisely why Colorado coach Tad Boyle is calling every contest a “separation game” from here on out, starting with Wednesday night’s home date with California.

UNLV at Nevada 11:00 PM ET
No. 23 Nevada moved back into the top-25 rankings this week thanks in part to a 9-1 record in Mountain West play, the school's best conference start since joining the league for the 2012-13 season. The first-place Wolf Pack, who have lost the last three times when entering the national poll, will try and snap that streak when they host bitter intrastate rival UNLV on Wednesday night.
