Preview Roundups
March 11, 2017
Michigan at Minnesota 1:00 PM ET
Eighth-seeded Michigan looks to continue its resilient run in the Big Ten tournament when it takes on No. 4 seed Minnesota in Saturday's semifinals. The Wolverines cruised past ninth-seeded Illinois 75-55 in the second round despite arriving in Washington, D.C., only hours prior to tipoff Thursday as their charter plane skidded off the runway during takeoff Wednesday before knocking off No. 1 seed Purdue 74-70 in overtime in Friday's quarterfinal.
Alabama at Kentucky 1:00 PM ET

Two more wins in the SEC Tournament would earn Alabama an unlikely automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament – but one more might be enough to make the Crimson Tide an interesting topic for the selection committee. The fifth-seeded Crimson Tide aim for their 20th victory when they face surging No. 1 seed Kentucky in an SEC Tournament semifinal Saturday afternoon in Nashville.

Central Florida at Southern Methodist 3:00 PM ET
No. 15 SMU looks to keep its hot streak going and take the next step to an American Athletic Conference tournament title when it takes on Central Florida on Saturday afternoon in the semifinals at Hartford, Conn.. The top-seeded Mustangs won their last 14 games, which includes a victory over the fourth-seeded Knights, who come in on a six-game winning streak.
Vanderbilt at Arkansas 3:00 PM ET

With a run to the SEC Tournament semifinals, Vanderbilt might have finally done enough to secure an NCAA Tournament bid, but the Commodores would prefer to win two more games in Nashville and remove all doubt. The surging Commodores’ next shot at padding their resume comes Saturday when they take on Arkansas with a trip to the championship game on the line.

Northwestern at Wisconsin 3:30 PM ET
Following Northwestern's win at Wisconsin last month, fourth-year coach Chris Collins reminded reporters the Badgers were the team his Wildcats are trying to emulate. One day shy of a month later, Collins will try to get sixth-seeded Northwestern its third straight victory against No. 2 seed Wisconsin on Saturday in the semifinals of the Big Ten tournament in Washington D.C.
Connecticut at Cincinnati 5:00 PM ET
No. 18 Cincinnati will look for a repeat of its regular-season finale when it takes on Connecticut in an American Athletic Conference semifinal Saturday in Hartford, Conn. The Bearcats, the No. 2 seed in the tournament, routed the Huskies by 20 on March 5, their second victory this season over sixth-seeded UConn, which is the only non-top 4 seed in the semifinals.
Creighton at Villanova 5:30 PM ET
Josh Hart and No. 2 Villanova are in the midst of a magical ride that has lasted nearly a full year. The Wildcats can continue their impressive run of domination Saturday when they face Creighton in the Big East tournament title game at Madison Square Garden.
Iowa St. at West Virginia 6:00 PM ET
The Sprint Center in Kansas City, site of the Big 12 tournament, has been nicknamed "Hilton South" because of the crush of Iowa State fans who make the three-hour drive down I-35 each March for the event. Over half the arena was filled with Cyclones fans for Friday's 84-63 semifinal win over TCU, and that crowd advantage for 24th-ranked Iowa State figures to be even bigger for Saturday's championship game against No. 11 West Virginia, which rallied for a 51-50 victory over Kansas State.
Marshall at Middle Tennessee St. 8:30 PM ET
Top-seeded Middle Tennessee can reach 30 wins for the first time in program history if it captures a second straight Conference-USA tournament title Saturday, when it faces sixth seed Marshall in the championship game at Birmingham, Ala. The 25th-ranked Blue Raiders, winners of nine straight, had no trouble in the quarterfinals against Texas-San Antonio and rolled over UTEP 82-56 in Friday’s semifinals.
Duke at Notre Dame 9:00 PM ET
Fifth-seeded Duke attempts to become the first team in history to win four contests in four days to take the ACC tournament when it faces third seed - and 16th-ranked - Notre Dame in the championship game Saturday in Brooklyn, N.Y. The 14th-ranked Blue Devils earned a chance at their record 20th title by scoring 51 points in the second half to rally past top seed North Carolina 93-83 in Friday’s semifinals.
Arizona at Oregon 11:00 PM ET
Oregon and Arizona will play for the Pac-12 tournament title for the second time in three years Saturday in Las Vegas, and a victory by the top-seeded Ducks would earn a fifth conference tournament championship, matching the second-seeded Wildcats for the most in the event's 19-year history. Oregon beat visiting Arizona by 27 points in their only meeting this season, which represents the second-worst loss in eight seasons under coach Sean Miller.
